LICM Mickey Mantle Division

The Mickey Mantle Division is a subset of the Long Island Connie Mack League and includes the better high school junior varsity and ninth grade players.  By national guidelines, Mickey Mantle participants may not have reached their seventeenth birthday by May 1 in the year in which they seek eligibility.

Beginning in 2008, all games in the Mickey Mantle divison will be played with wood bats.

The Mantle program runs from late May to mid-August and includes a 22 regular game schedule, an all-star game and playoff games at the end of the season.  Mantle schedules include doubleheaders on most weekends and either twilight or night games during the week.

In addition, Mantle Division teams compete for the privilege to play in the Mickey Mantle World Series held during early August in Texas.  Such competition includes both local and regional tournament qualifiers to select World Series participants.  The League also sends representatives to NABF tournaments for this age group.
