LICM Connie Mack Division The Connie Mack Division
is a subset of the Long Island Connie Mack League and includes the
better high school junior varsity and varsity players and first year
college players. By
national guidelines, Connie Mack participants may not have reached
their nineteenth birthday by May 1 in the year in which they seek eligibility.
The Division enjoys a regular following by both college and professional scouts. Several players continue playing under quality college programs.
Beginning in 2006, all games in the Connie Mack division will be played with wood bats. The Connie Mack program runs from early June to mid-August and includes a 22 regular game schedule, an all-star game and playoff games at the end of the season. Mack schedules include doubleheaders on most Sundays and either twilight or night games during the week.
In addition, teams compete for the privilege to play in the Connie Mack World Series held mid-August in Farmington, New Mexico. Such competition includes both local and regional tournament qualifiers to select World Series participants. The League also sends representatives to NABF tournaments for this age group.
